Research Interests

Linguistics:

General Linguistics, Syntax, Negation, Negative Concord

Monolingual Child Language Acquisition:

I'm a linguist who is more interested in child language acquisition. I love to interrogate how young children acquire language, how caregivers' provided input plays a role, how age associates with them, and above all, what's children's role in instantiating their acquisition process.

Bilingual Child Language Acquisition:

In the modern era of globalization, the bilingual language acquisition is hard to be separated from the monolingual one. I'm also equally interested in figuring out if children acquiring two L1s of opposite systems of negation would allow one L1 to affect the 2nd L1 while receiving input for both of them simultaneously.

Analytical:

I find it very fascinating and playful to use one of the powerful yet very flexible languages, Python R, to collect and extract data. Using RStats helps me to find unique patterns, structures, and observations in the data. I fully advocate the use of R and stats in linguistic research.

Teaching:

Teaching is my passion. I feel it was born with me. Being a teacher of school children, graduate students, or a teacher trainer, it's equally enjoyable for me. I believe in not only formal but also informal teaching and training and have been a part of the Community Teaching and Training Project ever since I started my High School studies.
